Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is assisting a busy commercial vehicle dealership in Reading to recruit an experienced Workshop Controller (HGV/CV). You will manage daily workshop operations, allocate repairs to technicians, monitor progress and ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met.

The role requires proven experience running a commercial vehicle workshop, strong knowledge of HGV maintenance and operator licensing, and the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily workshop operations, allocating scheduled and urgent repairs to HGV and Commercial Vehicle Technicians
• Maximise technician productivity, workshop efficiency and labour sales
• Monitor repair progress to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met
• Oversee warranty claims, technical processes and accurate workshop documentation
• Manage, coach and develop Technicians, including performance reviews and training plans
• Work closely with the Depot Manager, Service Advisors and technical departments to improve workshop performance
• Maintain high standards of quality control, compliance, and Health & Safety

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Workshop Controller, HGV Workshop Controller or Commercial Vehicle Workshop Controller to join a busy commercial vehicle dealership. Salary: Up to £50,000 Basic + Bonus

• Confident using workshop management systems and computerised processes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
