STRABAG is seeking a Works Manager/General Foreman for civil engineering projects focused on earthworks and highways. You will lead site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and drive delivery in line with project specs and programme.

The role requires hands-on earthworks experience, strong leadership, and the ability to interpret complex drawings while ensuring safety and compliance on site.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Works Manager or General Foreman in civil engineering (earthworks/highways).
  • Hands-on bulk earthworks and road construction background.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder coordination with clients and authorities.
  • CSCS Card holder.

  • Establish a high performing, collaborative culture under the behavioural safety programme.

  • Demonstrated success in a Works Manager or General Foreman role within the civil engineering sector, specifically focusing on earthworks and highways.
  • Extensive, hands-on background in bulk earthworks and road construction.
  • Strong understanding of heavy plant operations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of coordinating with stakeholders, clients, and local authorities.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of regulations relating to the storage, transport, disposal and of soils and other construction waste.
  • Skills Card - CSCS Card.
