Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council seeks a Workplace Compliance Officer to join the Highways Service at Federation Road Depot. You will lead on training, qualifications, competencies and mandatory requirements, developing safe systems of work and maintaining compliance records.

You will work with managers and frontline teams to monitor safety standards, support audits and investigations, and promote a positive health and safety culture; hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance, health and safety, or workforce development.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead on workforce compliance activities, monitoring training, qualifications and mandatory requirements.
• Develop, implement and review health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Monitor compliance performance, maintain records and provide reports to managers.
• Support health and safety audits, inspections and investigations and implement improvements.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on compliance and wellbeing.
• Promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the service.
