Job description

Overview

We are recruiting for a Working Site Supervisor based in Glasgow.

  • £35,864 per annum
  • Travel and site work across the UK is part of the role. All travel and accommodation expenses are covered.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering works, predominantly on clean water sites, to a high standard and in a timely manner. Travel and overnight stays will be part of the job. Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and assisting with site preparation, including unloading and storing building materials and plant
  • Reviewing, during site setup, all documentation and ensuring working methods are agreed upon, appropriate, and safe
  • Ensuring the team has the correct personal protective equipment required for the project
  • Reporting all defects in tools, plant, equipment, and materials before the start of the project where possible
  • Managing task delegation within the team to ensure efficient project completion
  • Liaising with the Project/Site Coordinator to ensure project requirements are on schedule
  • Ensuring proper use of welfare facilities by the team
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment, including wearing full PPE at all times
  • Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks, safety bulletins, etc.
  • Taking responsibility for the safekeeping of machinery and materials, ensuring timely off-hire of equipment
  • Understanding reports and forecasts from Project/Site Coordinators and Project Managers to stay updated on progress and manpower
Who we’re looking for

While attitude is more important than qualifications, you will have a full, clean driving license and understanding of concrete repair works.

If you have the right aptitude and attitude, are good at leading a small team, and take pride in your work, we can do the rest.

You will have:

  • CSCS Blue card or willingness to obtain
  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card or willingness to obtain
  • Certificate in Confined Spaces or willingness to obtain
  • SSSTS or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working on-site in a supervisory capacity
  • Ability to lead a small team and work independently, using initiative to solve problems and complete tasks
  • Self-motivation and the ability to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces, following relevant training
  • Ability to act on initiative, particularly regarding health & safety, and report relevant issues
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required
