Job summary

VGC Group is seeking an experienced Working Foreman for a major Birmingham project. You will supervise site operatives, coordinate daily activities, and ensure works meet programme targets on a long-term contract paying £26.96 per hour PAYE for a 50-hour week.

The ideal candidate holds Gold or Black CSCS, SMSTS, and preferably First Aid, with proven leadership in civil engineering or infrastructure projects and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and working alongside site operatives to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
• Leading teams on site, providing direction and support to achieve programme targets.
• Coordinating daily activities, labour, plant, and materials.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Conducting daily briefings and toolbox talks.
• Monitoring productivity and reporting progress to site management.
• Promoting and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Conducting regular site inspections and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
• Assisting with planning and organising work activities to meet project deadlines.
• Maintaining accurate site records, permits, inspections, and timesheets.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Identifying and resolving site issues in a proactive and professional manner.
• Ensuring all personnel wear the correct PPE and adhere to site safety procedures.
• Reporting incidents, near misses, and safety concerns as required.

Working Foreman - Birmingham - £26.96 per hour PAYE

VGC Group are looking for an experienced Working Foreman to start on a major project in Birmingham. This contract is available to start as soon as possible and we can offer up to 2 years' work for the successful candidate.

Role: Working Foreman

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £26.96 per hour PAYE

Hours: 50 per week

Contract: Long-term contract

Experience: 2 years +

Based in Birmingham, remuneration for this role is £26.96 per hour PAYE. You will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once qualifying criteria have been met.
