Job summary

VGC Group in Birmingham seeks an experienced HVAC Fitter Supervisor to lead a team on a major project. The role covers installation, supervision, safety, and coordination with engineers and subcontractors. A strong focus on quality, safety compliance and efficient progress is essential.

The successful candidate will oversee HVAC installations, read drawings, mentor fitters, and ensure compliance with site procedures and safety standards. 50-hour weeks and a PAYE contract dominate the role.

Qualifications

• CSCS card and safety-related qualifications.
• IPAF 3A/3B certification.
• F-Gas Category 1 certification.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Heating & Ventilation plus First Aid, Working at Height and Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Following all health, safety and environmental procedures and PPE usage.
• Lead and supervise a team of HVAC fitters to complete works safely and on programme.
• Oversee installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Allocate daily work activities and monitor workforce performance.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure site procedures and safety standards are followed.
• Read HVAC drawings, specs and technical documentation.
• Ensure installations meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage installation quality and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Coordinate with site management, engineers, subcontractors and other trades.
• Monitor material usage and assist with labour/resource planning.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities as required.
• Ensure work at height activities are safe and compliant.
• Maintain records of completed works, inspections and progress.
• Identify hazards and implement control measures.
• Mentor team members to uphold workmanship standards.
• Report incidents and safety concerns per company procedures.

HVAC Fitter Supervisor - Birmingham - £28.38 PER HOUR PAYE

VGC Group are looking for an experienced HVAC Fitter Supervisor to start on a project in Birmingham. This contract is available to start as soon as possible, and we can offer up to 2 years' worth of work to a successful candidate.

Role: HVAC Fitter Supervisor. Location: Birmingham. Salary: £28.38 Per Hour PAYE. Hours: 50 Hours Per Week. Contract: Contract Type. Experience: 5 Years +.

Qualifications: CSCS, SSSTS or SMSTS, IPAF 3A, IPAF 3B, F-Gas Category 1, City & Guilds Level 3 in Heating & Ventilation, First Aid at Work, Working at Height, Manual Handling.

HVAC Fitter Supervisor Experience

Your role as an HVAC Fitter Supervisor will be based in Birmingham and will consist of:

• Following all health, safety and environmental procedures and wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
• Leading and supervising a team of HVAC fitters to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Overseeing the installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Allocating daily work activities and monitoring workforce performance.
• Conducting toolbox talks and ensuring workforce compliance with site procedures and safety standards.
• Reading and interpreting HVAC drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensuring all HVAC installations are completed in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Managing installation quality and resolving any technical issues that arise on site.
• Coordinating with site management, engineers, subcontractors and other trades to maintain project progress.
• Monitoring material usage and assisting with labour and resource planning.
• Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities where required.
• Ensuring work at height activities are undertaken safely and in compliance with site procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works, inspections and progress updates.
• Identifying potential hazards and implementing effective control measures.
• Mentoring and supporting team members to maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Reporting incidents, near misses and safety concerns in accordance with company procedures.

Based in Birmingham, remuneration for this role is £28.38 per hour PAYE. You will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
