Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Burgess Hill, England, is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to lead a busy on-site team on a major civil engineering project. You will supervise groundwork operations, coordinate labour, read and interpret drawings, and ensure work is delivered on time and to the required standards.

The ideal candidate will hold CSCS, have plant tickets (CPCS/NPORS) and SMSTS/SSSTS where possible, and demonstrate strong safety leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate groundwork teams on site.

• Read and work from drawings, specifications and site plans.
• Coordinate plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are completed on programme and to the required quality standards.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and other site personnel.
• Carry out regular quality and safety checks.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with RAMS and site procedures.
• Maintain a safe, tidy and productive working environment.
• Complete daily records and report progress, issues and requirements to site management.

We are currently looking for an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our team on a busy construction project.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, with proven experience supervising a team and delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate groundwork teams on site.
• Manage day-to-day site activities and allocate labour effectively.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman / Working Foreman.
• Strong knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering operations.
• Experience supervising and leading a site team.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Relevant CPCS/NPORS or other plant tickets would be advantageous.
• CSCS qualification required.
• SSSTS/SMSTS would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
