RTL Group Ltd in Hull is seeking an experienced Working Groundworks Foreman to lead a gang on site and supervise daily operations. You will coordinate drainage, foundations and general groundworks while ensuring work is carried out to high standards.

This hands-on role requires reading drawings, setting levels, coordinating labour and maintaining strong health and safety practices on busy sites around Hull and the surrounding area.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Senior Groundworker.
• Strong practical knowledge of drainage, foundations, concrete works and general groundworks.
• Experience leading and motivating a groundworks gang.
• Ability to read drawings and set out levels to specification.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to work on site with the team.
• Good leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• CSCS card and relevant plant or supervisory tickets.

Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced and hands-on Working Groundworks Foreman to join our team on projects in Hull and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, hardworking individual who has extensive groundworks experience and is confident leading a team while remaining actively involved in the work on site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a gang of groundworkers, coordinating daily activities and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a hands-on position, so we are looking for someone who is happy to lead by example and get involved with the physical side of the job when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and leading a gang of groundworkers on site.
• Working hands-on alongside the team when required.
• Managing day-to-day site operations and allocating workloads.
• Overseeing drainage, deep drainage, foundations, concrete works, kerbing, paving and general groundworks.
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and site plans.
• Checking levels, ensuring accurate setting out and maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinating labour, plant, materials and deliveries.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with specifications and project programmes.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety and ensuring site procedures are followed.
• Liaising with site managers, engineers, subcontractors and other trades.
• Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise delays and maintain productivity.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Senior Groundworker ready to take on a supervisory role.
• Strong practical knowledge of general groundworks, drainage and associated civil engineering works.
• Previous experience managing and motivating a groundworks gang.
• Ability to read drawings, understand levels and work accurately to specifications.
• A hands-on approach with a willingness to work alongside the team.
• Good leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality work.
• A strong understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Relevant qualifications, CSCS card and appropriate plant or supervisory tickets where applicable.
