Job summary

Frontline Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Groundworks Working Foreman for a busy construction project in Peterborough. The role combines hands-on groundworks with leadership of a small crew, ensuring daily tasks are delivered safely and to standard.

You will read and interpret construction drawings, oversee drainage and foundations, coordinate with subcontractors, and maintain momentum to keep the programme on track. Valid SMSTS and CSCS are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Groundworks Foreman or Working Foreman.
• Valid SMSTS certificate.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering operations.
• Experience supervising groundworks teams.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating groundworkers on site.
• Carrying out hands‑on groundworks duties when required.
• Organising daily workloads and allocating tasks to operatives.
• Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Reading and working from construction drawings and specifications.
• Overseeing drainage, foundations, ducting, kerbing, concreting and associated groundworks.
• Monitoring progress and helping keep works on programme.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors and other trades.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Frontline Construction Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Groundworks Working Foreman to join a busy construction project in Location .

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Groundworks Foreman with strong site experience who can lead a team of operatives while remaining actively involved in the day‑to‑day groundworks activities.

• Supervising and coordinating groundworkers on site

• Carrying out hands‑on groundworks duties when required

• Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard

• Reading and working from construction drawings and specifications

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Working Foreman

• Valid SMSTS certificate

• Valid CSCS card

• Strong practical knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering operations

• Experience supervising and leading groundworks teams

• Good understanding of construction health and safety

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

• Reliable, organised and confident communicating with site management

• Right to work in the UK
