Job summary

Prestige Recruitment Specialists are recruiting experienced Skilled Groundworkers to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering highways and infrastructure projects across Hull and Yorkshire.

You will carry out drainage, kerbing, ducting, excavations and site works, with opportunities to progress to ganger, chargehand or supervisory roles based on performance.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering groundworks experience on highways or infrastructure projects.
• CSCS card and CPCS/NPORS plant qualifications.
• Knowledge of drainage, excavation and safe working practices.
• Ability to read drawings and work with limited supervision.
• Reliable and pride in quality of work.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Dumper/Roller tickets and Street Works, Confined Spaces, CAT & Genny and First Aid advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install drainage, pipework, manholes and chambers.
• Kerbing, paving, concreting and reinstatement.
• Ducting and underground services installation.
• Excavation, backfilling, compaction and sub-base preparation.
• Work from drawings, levels and specifications.
• Operate plant when qualified and authorised.
• Maintain high safety, productivity and workmanship.

Skilled Groundworkers - Civil Engineering & Highways

Location: Hull and sites across Yorkshire

Pay: £14.79-£18.74 per hour/£30,000-£38,000

Hours: Typically 7:30am-5pm, finishing at 4:30pm in winter

Prestige Recruitment Specialists are recruiting experienced Skilled Groundworkers to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering highways and infrastructure projects.

We welcome applications from individual groundworkers and established gangs, including those with plant operating experience or the ability to lead a team.

The role

You will carry out a range of civil engineering groundworks, including:

• Installing drainage, pipework, manholes and chambers.
• Kerbing, paving, concreting and reinstatement.
• Ducting and underground services installation.
• Excavation, backfilling, compaction and sub-base preparation.
• Working from drawings, levels and specifications.
• Operating plant where appropriately qualified and authorised.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and workmanship.

What we're looking for

• Proven civil engineering groundworks experience, ideally on highways, infrastructure or local authority projects.
• A valid CSCS card and relevant CPCS or NPORS plant qualifications.
• A good understanding of drainage, excavation and safe working practices.
• The ability to read drawings and work accurately with limited supervision.
• Reliability, a strong work ethic and pride in the quality of your work.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Dumper/Roller tickets are particularly relevant. Street Works, Confined Spaces, CAT & Genny and First Aid qualifications would also be advantageous.

The opportunity

Work is predominantly across Hull and Yorkshire. Some projects may require travel and working away, so flexibility is important.
