Job description

Wood Machinist / Warehouse Assistant required by a large independent specialist sheet supplier based in Keynsham, Bristol. Due to recent expansion, we now have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and motivated full-time Wood Machinist / Warehouse Assistant to join the team. Experience in wood machining is preferable but not essential; full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machining Operations: Operate machinery such as beam saws, edge banding machines, and CNC routers to process materials to the highest quality standards.
2. Warehouse Support: Assist with general warehouse duties, including stock management, picking and packing orders, and organising materials.
3. Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to transport materials around the warehouse and assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
4. Health & Safety: Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
5. Quality Control: Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet company standards and customer requirements.
6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all areas of the warehouse.

You:

1. Experience: Experience in machining (beam saw, edge banding, CNC routing (“Alphacam” knowledge) is preferable but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
2. Warehouse Skills: Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
3. Forklift License: A valid forklift license is required, or the willingness to obtain one.
4. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality products.
5. Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
6. Health & Safety Awareness: An understanding of and adherence to workplace health and safety guidelines.
