Job summary

Zero Surplus is hiring an Electrical Assembly Technician to join our Basildon-based production team. The role focuses on building and wiring complex control boards and assemblies using detailed technical documentation.

You will read drawings, wire to spec, and ensure proper cable management and quality. A relevant apprenticeship or qualification is required, with a stable, long-term workplace environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical assembly or panel wiring.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble control boards and enclosures using a variety of components.
• Carry out point-to-point wiring, including preparation, routing, and termination of cables.
• Ensure high standards of cable management and overall presentation.
• Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
• Inspect and test assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Use a range of hand and power tools safely.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Hours: 39 hours per week, flexible start between 7:00am - 9:00am (early finish on Fridays)
