Job summary

Mane Energy, a global manufacturing business with several UK sites, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a busy plant.

You will build control panels, wire machines, read schematics, and support continuous improvement under a rotating shift schedule. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, fault-finding skills, and a commitment to high build standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience building electrical systems for complex machinery.
  • Proficient in electrical wiring and panel assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and fault finding.

Responsibilities

  • Control panel and machine wiring.
  • Point to point wiring, cable crimping, loom & terminating.
  • Soldering on connectors such as D-type.
  • Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts to ISO quality standards.
  • Ensure BOM and customer specifications are met.
  • Identify and resolve build issues efficiently.
  • Maintain health & safety and 5S standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team performance.
  • Work on rotating shifts as scheduled by Team Leader.

Job description

About the Company:

A global manufacturing business with 4 manufacturing sites across the UK.

Main Responsibilities
  • Control Panel & machine wiring
  • Point to point wiring, cable crimping, looming & terminating.
  • Soldering on various connectors such as d-type connectors.
  • Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems to required quality and ISO standards
  • Ensure BOM and customer specification requirements are met
  • Identify and resolve build issues efficiently
  • Report technical issues via the FRACAS process
  • Maintain technical competence through ongoing training
  • Provide build sequence guidance and support to the team
  • Mentor and train junior technicians
  • Promote high standards of build cleanliness, housekeeping, and health & safety (including supporting 5S initiatives)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and production team performance
  • Work in accordance with the rotating shift schedule provided by the Team Leader
Essential Requirements
  • Experience building electrical systems, ideally for complex/special-purpose machinery
  • Strong background in electrical wiring, including panel building
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Control panels
  • MCBs, contactors, relays
  • Inverter drives and PLCs
  • Cable crimping, soldering, and termination
  • Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding ability
  • Commitment to high-quality build standards
Desirable Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • 16th/17th Edition Electrical qualification
  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • City & Guilds in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Other relevant electrical qualifications
