Job summary

Zero Surplus is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician in Basildon, Essex. The role focuses on building and wiring complex control boards and assemblies using detailed technical documentation. On-site, 39 hours a week with a flexible start window.

The candidate will read drawings and schematics, work with various components, and ensure cable management and presentation meet high standards. This stable role offers ongoing production workload and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or similar manufacturing roles.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Experience working with electrical components and control systems.
• Good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble control boards and enclosures using a variety of components.
• Carry out point-to-point wiring, including preparation, routing, and termination of cables.
• Ensure high standards of cable management and overall presentation.
• Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
• Inspect and test assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Use a range of hand and power tools safely.
