Job summary

TEC Partners is recruiting for an Electrical Assembler in Newmarket to join an expanding engineering manufacturer. The role involves hands-on build and wiring of bespoke electrical systems from drawings and schematics, across diverse projects rather than repetitive production tasks.

You will work with low‑voltage equipment, cables up to 300mm², and collaborate with electrical, mechanical and engineering teams to ensure high‑quality assemblies that meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical assembly and panel wiring.
• Able to read and work to electrical drawings.
• Comfort with different cable sizes and termination.
• 17th or 18th Edition would be advantageous but is not essential.

• Assemble and wire low‑voltage electrical systems, control panels, switchboards and distribution equipment.
• Work with a variety of cables and wiring, including larger cabling up to 300mm².
• Prepare, route, terminate and connect electrical cables.
• Install electrical components, terminals, breakers, contactors and associated equipment.
• Work accurately from electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Build electrical assemblies and systems to customer and engineering specifications.
• Carry out visual and quality checks throughout the assembly process.
• Support testing and fault finding of completed electrical systems.
• Work alongside electrical, mechanical and engineering teams on bespoke equipment builds.

We're recruiting for an Electrical Assembler to join a growing engineering manufacturer in Newmarket following the award of several major projects.

The business specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke electrical systems, including distribution boards, switchboards, control panels, enclosed starters, inverter panels and power distribution units.

Their equipment is supplied across a diverse range of industries including renewable energy, marine, agriculture, food processing, construction, compressors and electronics.

The Role

This is a hands‑on electrical assembly position where you'll be involved in the build and wiring of complete electrical systems from drawings and schematics.

Rather than repetitive production assembly, you'll work across a variety of bespoke projects, assembling electrical equipment to individual customer specifications.

About You

• Previous experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, switchgear, electrical fitting or electrical manufacturing.
• Confident working from electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Hands‑on experience with cable preparation, routing and termination.
• Experience building control panels, distribution boards, switchboards or similar electrical equipment would be highly advantageous.
• Comfortable working with different cable sizes, ideally including larger power cabling.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.
• 17th or 18th Edition would be advantageous but is not essential.
