Are you an experienced Infrastructure professional with a background in Windows, Linux, SQL, VMWare.
A superb opportunity has become available for a Wintel Infrastructure Engineer within the IT Infrastructure Products department of a leading financial services organisation.
The successful candidate will provide technical ownership of the Wintel Estate and main the stability of the Wintel Estate.
This role will provide technical advisory support for projects and help resolve Wintel-related P1, P2 and P3 incidents. The role will review and approve change requests relating to the server estate, assess their potential impact and distribute detailed reviews to the relevant resources and stakeholders. It will also involve assessing performance and recommending improvements across the server estate, defining guardrails and build standards, ensuring all third-party providers adhere to them, and identifying opportunities for consolidation and cost savings.
As a Wintel Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be an SME in Windows and have knowledge of VMWare, SQL and Cloud infrastructure, you'll have demonstrable experience in supporting, deploying and improving server infrastructure in a regulated environment. You will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and be able to effectively prioritise your workload. As you'll be assisting in the resolution of major IT incidents, problem-solving skills are essential within a customer-focused IT environment. You'll take ownership of issues and tasks and see through to successful completion, working with 3rd party vendors as required.
