Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Filton, Bristol, is seeking Design Interns to join the Wing Engineering Team. Open to undergraduates for the entire placement, you will work on designing wing structures and developing interfaces for manufacture.

A CV and Cover Letter outlining motivation are required with your application. You will gain hands-on experience with CATIA V5 and related design tools, while contributing to multiple Airbus programmes under guidance and within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Engineering, Design Technology, Science or Maths, or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn metallic and composite structures and associated design toolsets.
• Good communication and proactive attitude are essential.
• Covering letter detailing motivation and suitability should be included in the application.

Responsibilities

• Design of composite and metallic Wing structures across Airbus programmes.
• Create design schemes, frontier and interfaces drawings and data for manufacture.
• Assess design solutions within time, cost and quality parameters and manage offload to suppliers if necessary.
• Ensure structural design meets programme airworthiness and product requirements.
• Define, deliver and enable technical studies and investigations for design methods and procedures.
