Job summary

Airbus invites undergraduates to join the Wing Structural Design team in Broughton for a year-long internship. You will work with PET and support the A400M team on wing structures for A320, A330 and A350, gaining hands-on experience with engineers and real production environments.

This placement emphasises design, analysis, and collaboration across diverse teams, offering strong development and networking opportunities within Airbus' Early Careers community.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Some knowledge of overall aircraft structural design principles.
• Good problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
• Not afraid to propose new ideas to solve problems.
• Self-driven and resilient with the ability to work autonomously.
• Willingness to adapt to change and deliver under pressure.
• CAD and PDM knowledge would be beneficial.
• Clear listening, understanding and communication with the team.
• Open to Undergraduates for the whole duration of the placement.

Responsibilities

• Design of composite and metallic wing structures across Airbus programmes.
• Create design schemes, frontier and interfaces drawings for manufacture.
• Assess design solutions within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Deliver technical studies and investigations for design methods.
• Provide engineering support to production to minimise disruption.
• Engage stakeholders across a wide range of teams.
