Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited offers an exciting internship in the Wing Structural Design team at Broughton, North Wales, supporting the A400M programme. You will be mentored by engineers and contribute to wing design across Airbus programmes.

This undergraduate placement focuses on design, CAD/PDM tools, and real-world engineering challenges, with a 35-hour week, hybrid working, and a starting date in August 2027.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates only for the full placement duration.
• Studying towards Aerospace or Mechanical Eng or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft structural design principles.
• Strong problem-solving and can-do attitude.
• Willing to propose ideas and work autonomously.
• Ability to deliver while embracing change and challenge.
• CAD and PDM knowledge would be beneficial.
• Clear communication with team and stakeholders.
• Innovative mindset and curiosity to explore ideas.

Responsibilities

• Design of composite and metallic wing structures across Airbus programmes.
• Create design schemes, frontiers and interfaces drawings for manufacture.
• Assess design solutions within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Deliver technical studies and investigations per design methods.
• Provide engineering support to production with minimal disruption.
• Utilise stakeholder management across diverse teams.
• Propose and develop projects to improve production environments.
• Communicate tasks to mentors and senior engineers.
• Define development goals and pursue them during the placement.
