Job Description: Wine Waiter at Bodmin Jail Hotel

Join our team as a Wine Waiter at Bodmin Jail Hotel, a unique four-star luxury hotel set within historic surroundings in Cornwall. We are seeking a confident, chatty, wine-loving individual who excels in providing exceptional service in a fast-paced, upscale environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering elegant and knowledgeable wine service, including decanting and pouring, in line with hotel standards
• Recommending wines and upselling premium bottles and pairings based on guest preferences
• Supporting mise en place and maintaining wine service equipment and stock
• Achieving sales targets through upselling and recommendations
• Organising and managing wine stock and establishing relationships with suppliers

Required Skills & Experience:

• Passion for and proven experience in the wine industry
• Strong upselling, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of current wine trends, industry standards, and regulations
