Job summary

Majestic Wine Group in Henley-on-Thames is seeking a dynamic Sales Assistant to support store operations and drive sales. You will deliver exceptional customer service, manage wine knowledge, and assist with deliveries, stock, and customer outreach to boost loyalty.

The role requires evenings and weekends work, a full UK driving licence, and a commitment to developing through WSET Level 2. Permanent contract, 30 hours per week, with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Excellent time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and experience.
• Full UK, manual transmission driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting targets.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to drive growth and loyalty.
• Offer VIP concierge service with updates on products and tastings.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of our range to sell the story, not just the discount.
• Maintain wine knowledge and pursue WSET qualification to boost confidence in selling.
• Ensure the store's appearance and maintenance, internally and externally.
• Participate in day-to-day operational tasks including deliveries, merchandising, and customer calls.
• Identify improvements to optimise store operations and relay ideas to the team.
• Remain compliant, safe, and trained according to policies.
• Be a supportive example to junior team members and assist the Store Manager.
• Act as a key holder with opening/closing responsibilities.
