Job summary

Majestic Wine Oxford Summertown is seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering an exceptional customer experience and maintaining high operational standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will lead a small team, nurture product knowledge, manage tasting events, drive KPI performance, and ensure compliance, with opportunities for WSET progression and a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environments.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Understanding of retail KPIs and how to drive improvements.
• Able to prioritise and problem-solve in high-pressure environments.
• Self-motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work towards WSET 2 and 3 qualifications.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in driving performance and day-to-day operations of the store.
• Maximise sales opportunities and optimise KPI performance in-store.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Provide VIP concierge service with product updates and tastings.
• Manage tasting counter with product knowledge and events.
• Support recruitment, management and development of the team.
• Ensure store appearance, safety, compliance and training.
