Job summary

Majestic Wine Group in Shrewsbury is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our store team. You will drive sales, deliver outstanding customer service and support day-to-day store operations, working 29 hours per week and evenings/weekends.

As a key holder, you’ll help maintain store standards, manage stock, engage customers with wine knowledge, and promote VIP service while complying with policies and ensuring a safe, compliant shopping environment.

• Can-do attitude with a passion for solving problems.
• Adaptable and resilient to changing demands of the business.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Wine knowledge is beneficial; willing to pass level 2 WSET.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting targets.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Offer VIP concierge service, contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
• Sell the story not the discount, sharing passion for the range.
• Develop wine knowledge to support WSET qualification and selling confidence.
• Maintain store appearance and internal/external upkeep.
• Participate in day-to-day operations: deliveries, merchandising and calling customers.
• Suggest improvements to optimise store operations and communicate with the team.
• Remain compliant, safe and legal by following policies and training.
• Be a resource for juniors and assist the Store Manager as needed.
