Job summary

Sulzer is recruiting a skilled Winder/Fitter at our Birmingham Service Centre to support repair, refurbishment, manufacture and assembly of rotating electrical equipment. You will read drawings, wind coils, and assemble components to high quality standards.

Working in a state-of-the-art facility, you will help drive continuous improvement and safety while contributing to 24/7 operations across a range of industries. A strong mechanical background and team ethos are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an engineering, fitting, manufacturing or repair environment.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
• Winder or coil winding experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Winding, fitting and assembly on electrical equipment.
• Manufacturing and installing coils and windings to specification.
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding motors, generators and related equipment.
• Supporting electrical and mechanical testing and identifying faults.
