Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Pump Service Engineer to join our Birmingham Service Centre, supporting overhaul, repair and testing of pumps and rotating equipment for customers across water, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

This role is primarily workshop-based at a state-of-the-art facility, with occasional on-site work to inspect, fault-find and maintain equipment for UK customers. You will work with experienced engineers and contribute to safe, high-quality service activities.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, repairing or overhauling pumps and rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Flexible approach with willingness to undertake site work and travel.

Responsibilities

• Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding pumps and rotating equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and recommending repair solutions.
• Conducting performance testing and quality inspections.
• Producing accurate service reports and technical documentation.
• Supporting site activities including maintenance, installation and breakdown response.
• Working safely and professionally at customer locations across the UK.

About the role

Sulzer is looking for a skilled Pump Service Engineer to join our Birmingham Service Centre, supporting the overhaul, repair and testing of critical pumping equipment for customers across the water, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

This is primarily a workshop-based role, working within our state-of-the art facility alongside experienced engineers and technicians. However, flexibility is essential, as you'll also support customers on-site with inspections, fault finding, maintenance and emergency breakdown activities when required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding a wide range of pumps and rotating equipment
• Diagnosing faults and recommending repair solutions
• Conducting performance testing and quality inspections
• Producing accurate service reports and technical documentation
• Supporting site activities including maintenance, installation, commissioning and breakdown response
• Working safely and professionally at customer locations across the UK when required

• Monday - Thursday : 07:00 - 15:45
• Friday : 07:00 - 14:30
