Job summary

Rosscare is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Surrey Wheelchair Service in Woking, working with NHS clients to deliver, repair and service wheelchairs. You'll train in our workshop before moving to field duties, aiming for first-time fixes and strict infection control.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Successful enhanced DBS check.
• General workshop knowledge.
• Basic electrical knowledge including 12v/24v DC systems.
• Able to move and handle loads safely.
• Experience of face-to-face customer contact.
• Previous delivery driver experience.
• Awareness of people with disabilities.
• Flexible approach to working conditions.
• Ability to use own initiative within role boundaries.
• Ability to use a mobile phone to relay photographs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to relay clear instructions to clients.
• Awareness of hand-held scanners.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting wheelchairs to and from service user homes and NHS departments with infection control policy followed.
• Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field aiming for first time fix.
• Complete job cards with parts used and actions taken for data base updates.
• Ensure PPE is used as instructed.
• Undertake out of hours responsibility when rostered.
• Follow driving regulations and vehicle safety policies.
• Keep the vehicle tidy and restock parts daily.
• Perform weekly vehicle safety checks and van check sheet.
• Maintain professional customer service and wear uniform/ID.
• Prioritise workload and refer to Line Manager as needed.
• Maintain and safeguard tools and equipment per company handbook.
• Undertake training to maintain required skills.
