Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking three full-time switchboard operators to join the team at Morriston/Singleton. Roles are 37.5 hours per week, including days, evenings, nights and bank holidays.

Training is provided; Welsh language ability is essential for the post. The successful candidates will manage a computer-based switchboard, respond to alarms and emergencies, and support day-to-day operations in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to Vocational Level 3 or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge skills and experience
• Knowledge of Switchboard processes, polices and information systems in order to deal with a range of routine and non-routine activities.
• NVQ or equivalent in Call Handling or Customer Services

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer based switchboard console and respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Provide day to day administration for a busy switchboard operation.
• Act as first point of contact for telecommunication service, 24/7 to service users.
• Develop understanding of organisational functions to ensure accurate caller connection.
• Respond to medical emergency calls and activate emergency procedures per policies.
