Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a motivated People Services Advisor to support managers, improve attendance and wellbeing, and deliver sustainable workforce outcomes. The role involves advising on attendance management, analysing workforce data, and developing action plans with the People Services team.

You will audit attendance, promote equality, deliver training, and contribute to the organisation's People Strategy and KPI achievements.

Qualifications

Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualified or equivalent experience, and Member of the CIPD.
Degree level or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience within an HR related field of study.
Evidence of continuing professional development, Generalist Human Resources knowledge and experience.
Experience of interpreting and advising on terms and conditions and application of policies and procedures.
Experience of employee relations gained within a unionised environment, NHS or large complex organisation.
Experience of advising on a range of HR issues to all staff groups.
Effective oral communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Effective written communication skills including report writing.
Good analytical skills including interpreting information and making recommendations.
Able to prioritise, organise and manage a diverse workload.
Able to contribute to design and delivery of training and learning events.

Responsibilities

To organise and deliver appropriate People Services training initiatives.
To support managers to implement the sickness absence policy and review reasonable adjustments.
To audit and monitor attendance ensuring policy compliance.
To assist managers to develop strategies to reduce long and short-term absence.
To deliver wellbeing and ill health prevention initiatives.
To provide professional People Services advice and guidance.
To promote a positive employee relations climate based on cooperation and partnership.
To liaise with workforce information to produce meaningful workforce reports.
