Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Reading is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Wellbeing and Activities Assistant - Bank at Sonning Gardens Care Home to help spark engagement and improve residents’ wellbeing through a variety of activities.

You will work alongside the Wellbeing Coordinator to plan and deliver programs, maintain a welcoming, safe environment, and connect with local schools, groups and clubs to broaden activities for residents. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication (verbal and written) required.
• Experience working with older people in residential dementia care.
• Commitment to providing stimulating activities and social events.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe living and working environment.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator and care staff.
• Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for activities.
• Establish links with local community groups to promote intergenerational activity.
