Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant - Bank at Sonning Gardens Care Home in Reading. You will support the Wellbeing Coordinator with a wide range of activities to engage residents and enhance their physical, cognitive, and social well-being.

You will work within our caring team, uphold values of respect and compassion, and help foster connections with the local community through intergenerational activities.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Understanding of how interaction affects residents' well-being.
• Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to stimulating activities.
• Experience with older people in residential dementia settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe living and working environment and uphold the home’s positive image.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
• Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities.
• Establish links with local community (schools, groups, museums) to promote intergenerational activity.
