Job summary

Avery Healthcare is recruiting a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant for Sonning Gardens Care Home in Reading. You will support a wide range of activities aimed at enjoying physical, cognitive and social well-being for residents, under the guidance of the Wellbeing Coordinator.

The role requires effective communication, a caring approach to older people, and a commitment to providing stimulating events and social activities within a residential setting.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Understanding of how interaction supports well-being.
• Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to stimulating activities.
• Experience working with older people in residential dementia settings.

Responsibilities

• Support Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage residents.
• Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to the home’s positive image.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
• Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for activities and establish links with local community groups.
