Job summary

GAP Group Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a proactive Welfare Division Manager to oversee the day-to-day Hire Desk and Transport operations. You will lead a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers, delivering safe, efficient service and driving commercial performance.

In this fast-paced role you will balance people leadership with customer relationship management and revenue growth, while promoting operational excellence across our equipment hire business.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a hire desk, transport operation, or similar customer-facing team.
• Strong people management and coaching skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities in operations.
• Experience in plant hire or related operational backgrounds welcome.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of Hire Desk and Transport function.
• Motivate, coach, and develop Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers.
• Promote revenue growth through consumables, accessories and hire opportunities.
• Monitor transport performance to ensure on-time deliveries and collections.
• Ensure accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities.
• Resolve customer queries and administrative discrepancies efficiently.
• Collaborate with operational teams to maximise equipment availability.
