Job summary

GAP Group, the UK's leading equipment hire provider, is seeking a Welfare division manager to lead the Hire Desk and Transport operation and guide a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers. You will deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused service while driving revenue growth and operational excellence.

You will balance people leadership, customer relationships, and commercial performance in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for career progression within an industry leader.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function.
• Motivating, coaching, and developing a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers.
• Driving revenue growth through proactive promotion of consumables, accessories, and additional hire opportunities.
• Monitoring transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time.
• Ensuring the accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities.
• Resolving customer queries, hire issues, and administrative discrepancies efficiently.
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability and hire readiness.
• Maintaining compliance with company procedures, Health & Safety standards, and operational best practice.
• Reviewing key business reports and taking corrective action to improve performance and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing

What You'll Bring

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding communication skills with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
• A good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within an operational environment
• Experience within the plant hire industry would be advantageous, although candidates from similar operational backgrounds will also be considered
