Job summary

GAP Group Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a proactive Welfare Division Manager to oversee the day-to-day Hire Desk and Transport operations. You will lead a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers, delivering safe, efficient service and driving commercial performance.

In this fast-paced role you will balance people leadership with customer relationship management and revenue growth, while promoting operational excellence across our equipment hire business.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a hire desk, transport operation, or similar customer-facing team.
• Strong people management and coaching skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities in operations.
• Experience in plant hire or related operational backgrounds welcome.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function
• Motivating, coaching, and developing a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers
• Driving revenue growth through proactive promotion of consumables, accessories, and additional hire opportunities
• Monitoring transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time
• Ensuring the accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities
• Resolving customer queries, hire issues, and administrative discrepancies efficiently
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability

• Experience within the plant hire industry would be advantageous, although candidates from similar operational backgrounds will also be considered
