Job Opportunity: Welding Inspector in Scotland

RINA is seeking experienced Welding Inspectors to perform inspection activities for our esteemed clients in Scotland. The role involves various inspection tasks related to umbilical components and ancillary equipment.

Requested Qualifications:

• Experience as an Umbilical Inspector, demonstrated through a CV, including tube welding inspection, NDT Inspection (minimum Level 2), Mechanical Testing Inspection, Pressure Testing, Load-out Activities, etc.
• Mechanical Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or relevant high school diploma) with certificates such as NDT, welding, coating, etc.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector, with inspection experience at vendor premises, including daily inspections or project-based inspections.
• Ability to prepare daily/weekly inspection reports.
• Proficiency in English for reporting, understanding international standards/codes, and client communication.
• Ability to invoice services, either as a freelancer or via an agency/society.

Job Description:

• Inspection of component manufacture, including electric cables, splices, fillers, and oversheathing of steel tubes for umbilicals.
• Inspection of static umbilicals, including bend restrictors and subsea termination interface flanges, with lengths approximately 1470m and 4751m.
• Inspection of ancillary equipment such as bend restrictors, monitoring kits, repair joints, and repair kits.
• Attendance and monitoring of loadout activities.

Location:

Fife, Scotland. Please note, only residents of Scotland will be considered.

Period:

Contract basis, suitable for freelancers or inspector agencies, for ad hoc activities.
