Job summary

Catering in Bury seeks a Welder, Fabricator or Sheet Metal Worker to join a skilled fabrication team. You will manufacture precision components using TIG/MIG welding and sheet metal processes from detailed drawings, ensuring high-quality results.

The role offers 37 hours per week with early finish Fridays, regular overtime, and a competitive package including 25 days holiday and 6% pension. Time-served experience and Level 3 NVQ preferred; press brake and reading drawings skills are welcomed for

Qualifications

• Time-served experience in welding and fabrication.
• Level 3 NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Strong TIG and MIG welding skills.
• Experience working with stainless steel and sheet metal fabrication.
• Press brake and metal forming experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to quality standards.

Working within a skilled fabrication team, you will manufacture precision components and equipment using a range of sheet metal fabrication techniques. The work is varied, combining bespoke projects with repeat production builds, ensuring no two days are quite the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

TIG and MIG welding of precision components
Sheet metal fabrication, folding, cutting and assembly
Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
Producing high-quality equipment to exact standards
Collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve processes
Supporting servicing and maintenance activities when required
Ensuring all work meets quality and safety requirements

We’re keen to hear from experienced Welders, Fabricators or Sheet Metal Workers who take pride in producing quality work.

You will ideally have:

Time-served experience in welding and fabrication
Level 3 NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
