JAM Recruitment Ltd in Warmley is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator for a permanent, full-time role in our Bristol workshop. You will perform hands-on fabrication using sheet metal and steel, from measuring and cutting to folding, welding and final assembly, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality.

The ideal candidate has proven MIG welding experience in a workshop environment, and comfortable operating guillotines, press brakes, plasma or flame cutting, plus CNC familiarity is

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a fabrication or general engineering environment.
• Strong sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Confident using measurements and working accurately to specifications.
• Good attention to detail and hand‑eye coordination.
• Proven MIG welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the full sheet metal fabrication process, including measuring, cutting, folding, welding and fitting.
• Fabricate steel sheet and sections ranging from 1mm to 10mm thickness.
• Operate machinery including guillotines and press brakes.
• Cut and fold metal to manufacture components and structures.
• Carry out soundproofing work on units.
• Strip generator components and fabricate replacement parts.
• Use plasma and flame cutting techniques.
• MIG weld sheet metal from approximately 1mm to 15mm, including sections from 3mm to 15mm.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
• Work as part of the wider fabrication team to meet production requirements.

Job description

A Welder Fabricator position is available in Warmley, offering a permanent, full-time contract with a £33,500 annual salary plus bonus. Working Monday to Friday, the role involves hands‑on fabrication using sheet metal and steel sections. Duties span the entire production cycle, from measuring and cutting to folding, welding, and final assembly. The position requires proficiency with machinery and tools to manufacture components ranging from 1mm to 10mm thick. A strong emphasis is placed on precision and quality, demanding meticulous attention to detail. Candidates should possess relevant experience and competency in MIG welding techniques within a workshop environment.

Welder Fabricator Location: Bristol Salary: £33,500 + Bonus Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent Hours: Monday – Friday

The Role We are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join our workshop team in Bristol. This is a hands‑on fabrication role working with sheet metal and steel sections throughout the full production process, from measuring and cutting through to folding, welding and final fitting. You will work with a range of machinery and tools to produce high‑quality components and equipment, with a strong focus on accuracy, quality and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel sheet and sections ranging from 1mm to 10mm thickness.
• Operate machinery including guillotines and press brakes.

• Use plasma and flame cutting techniques.
• Safely operate a range of hand tools and powered equipment.

• Work as part of the wider fabrication team to meet production requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a fabrication or general engineering environment .
• Strong sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Confident using measurements and working accurately to specifications.
• Good attention to detail and hand‑eye coordination.
• Proven MIG welding experience.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.
• CNC machinery experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with guillotines, press brakes, plasma or flame cutting would be beneficial.
