Gi Group UK is recruiting Welders, Fabricators & Platers to join a busy workshop-based steelwork manufacturer that supports major road and rail projects. The role involves MIG welding and fabrication of heavy-gauge mild steel components, working from technical drawings, with a focus on quality and safety.
Ongoing overtime is available with days and night shifts. A strong track record in structural steel welding and precise workmanship are essential for success in this position.

Pay WELDER: Days £13.50 - £16ph | Nights £18.35 - £21.28ph
Pay PLATER: Days £14 - £18ph | Nights £18.62 - £23.94ph
Hours: Days: 07: 00 - 16.00 Monday - Friday or Nights 18:00 - 04:30 Monday - Thursday

We're recruiting Welders, Fabricators & Platers to join a busy, established infrastructure steelwork manufacturer supporting major road and rail projects. This is a workshop-based role working on heavy-gauge mild steel components (no site work).
If you enjoy producing high-quality welds on substantial structural work and want steady hours with plenty of overtime, this could be a great fit.
You’ll be MIG welding or fabricating structural steel components for major infrastructure builds and refurb projects (e.g., gantries/bridge steelwork and heavy plate/tubular assemblies).
Materials/Thickness: mild steel, typically 10-100mm (can be thicker depending on the job, up to ~200mm).
You will be invited for a face-to-face interview and a weld test. The weld test will include the below - must be able to pass these:
