Job summary

Gi Group UK is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator for our Nottinghamshire workshop. The role involves welding bespoke steelwork from drawings, primarily MIG welding, with 70% workshop-based work and 30% site visits, and no overnight stays.

The position offers permanent, full-time hours, with a typical Mon-Fri pattern and overtime opportunities. Salary is £16.00-£17.00 per hour, with paid breaks and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator.
• Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills.
• Confident working from engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Welding and fabricating bespoke steelwork from scratch.
• Predominantly MIG welding.
• Working mainly with mild steel (≈90%).
• Reading and working to engineering drawings.
• Material thickness typically 3mm-15mm.
• Supporting local site jobs across Nottinghamshire (van provided when required).

Welder Fabricator

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour + overtime (time & a third)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 (30 mins unpaid lunch + 15 mins paid break)

Location/Travel: Workshop-based with local Nottinghamshire site work (approx. 70% workshop / 30% site) - no staying away

A busy, well-established engineering and fabrication business is looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a small, friendly workshop team producing bespoke, made-to-order work. If you enjoy building from scratch and working from drawings-not repetitive production-this is a great fit.

What you'll be doing

• Welding and fabricating bespoke steelwork from scratch
• Predominantly MIG welding
• Working mainly with mild steel (approx. 90%)
• Material thickness typically 3mm-15mm
• Reading and working to engineering drawings
• Supporting local site jobs across Nottinghamshire (van provided when required)

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator
• Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills
• Confident working from engineering drawingsDesirable:

• Stainless steel experience
• Folding / fabrication machining / CNC folding exposure (advantage)
• Comfortable with occasional site-based tasks
