Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting for a Fabricator/Welder in Chesterfield. The role offers £16.00 per hour and a 4‑day working week, with temp‑to‑perm progression.

You will fabricate heavy‑engineering structures, read complex drawings and operate workshop machinery to produce high‑quality MIG welds. Ideal candidates will have strong fabrication experience, be proficient with detailed technical drawings and comfortable working with various metals.

Qualifications

• Strong fabrication experience ideally in heavy engineering.
• Ability to work from detailed technical drawings.
• Confident with various metals and fabrication techniques.
• Competent producing high-quality MIG welding.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate bespoke heavy‑engineering structures from drawings.
• Work from complex engineering drawings in a workshop.
• Use workshop machinery and tools to shape metals.
• Perform high‑quality MIG welding to spec.
• Measure, mark out, cut, shape and drill metals.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures.

Fabricator Welders required immediately for a company based in Chesterfield. Due to continued growth, they are looking for experienced people to join their team.

Duties:

• Fabrication of bespoke heavy‑engineering structures


• Working from complex engineering drawings


• Using workshop machinery and tools


• High‑quality MIG welding


• Measuring, marking out, cutting, shaping and drilling metals


• Adhering to Health & Safety procedures

Experience Required:

• Strong fabrication experience ideally in a heavy engineering environment


• Ability to work from detailed technical drawings


• Confident with various metals and fabrication techniques


• Competent producing high‑quality MIG welding

The Package:

• Competitive hourly rate with overtime paid at a premium


• 4‑day working week (Mon-Thu, 6am-4:30pm)
