Job summary

SLR Recruitment is seeking Welder/Fabricators for marine refit work around Southampton and Portsmouth. The role requires MIG, FCAW, TIG, and stainless/aluminium welding, with marine-based experience preferred.

Location is site-based around Southampton/Portsmouth, with 12-hour days including weekends. Duration is 6 months with potential extension for strong performers.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG & FCAW welding.
• Experience with STICK/MMA welding.
• Experience with TIG welding.
• Stainless steel and aluminium welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Welding on marine refit projects (ferries, work boats, tugs, oil tankers).
• Marine environment welding with structural steel focus and related metals.

Job description

We're heading into refit season and SLR Recruitment is on the look out for Welder/Fabricators to start ASAP!

Our client is based in Southampton and is fully booked throughout the coming months with plenty of work and hours to keep you busy!

We're on the lookout for Welder/Fabricators with any of the below experience:

• MIG & FCAW experience
• STICK/MMA experience
• TIG experience
• Stainless and Ali experience
• Pipefitters and Pipe Welders

*Must have Marine based experience in any of the above*

Location: Sites around Southampton & Portsmouth

*LOCALS ONLY- no digs allowance*

Scope: The projects are a mixture of refits on ferries, work boats, tugs, oil tankers etc using mainly structural steel but also experience with stainless or aluminium is advantageous.

Duration: 6 months (could be ongoing for candidates who impress our client!)

Rates: £23 per hour all hours worked

Hours: 12 hour days on offer plus weekends
