Tech Connect Group Recruiting a Welder for a manufacturing client in Farnborough. The role requires reading detailed drawings, setting up MIG and TIG welds, and fabricating components to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' welding experience, particularly with aluminium thin-gauge materials.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes.
• Fabrication experience, including working with multi-level Bills of Materials.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and accurately understand detailed technical drawing packs and welding symbols.
• Cut and weld metal products to fabricate parts and sub-assemblies.
• Set up and safely operate MIG and TIG welding equipment.
• Weld mainly aluminium thin-gauge material, as well as mild steel and stainless steel.
• Assemble parts and structures by accurately aligning and joining components through welding.
• Fabricate complex builds and designs using multi-level Bills of Materials (BoMs).
• Prepare finished products by cleaning and ensuring they are ready for painting.
• Use inspection and measuring equipment, including micrometers and vernier gauges.
• Complete required documentation and ensure work is manufactured in accordance with drawings and specifications.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing customer based in the UK, who are seeking a skilled Welder to join their Production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating complex parts and sub-assemblies, working from detailed technical drawings and ensuring all work is completed to the required quality and production standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience using grinders and manual/electric tools.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment such as micrometers and vernier gauges.
• Previous experience working with aviation parts is desirable.
• Knowledge of standard quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone is desirable.

• Rate - £18-20 p/h
• Hours - Mon - Thurs 8:00 - 16:45, Fri 8:00 - 13:00
• Over time available - Paid at time and a half
• 20 days holiday + Public holidays
