Job summary

Auxo Talent is seeking an experienced TIG Welder for an established engineering/manufacturing business in the United Kingdom. You will weld carbon and stainless steel, read engineering drawings and welding procedures, and perform TIG, MMA and MAG welding on pipework and critical components. The role involves setting up equipment, adhering to ISO/ASME/WPS standards, and working to production timescales. Rotating shifts, early and late blocks, support quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Time-served Welding apprenticeship completed.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a coded Welder in engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience with TIG, MMA and MAG welding.
• Coded welding experience and qualifications.
• Experience with carbon and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and WPS.
• Experience welding pipework, pressure vessels or similar components.
• Familiarity with ISO, ASME or AWS welding standards.
• Experience with NDT-inspected welding work.
• Desirable brazing experience with torch or induction brazing.

Responsibilities

• Weld with carbon and stainless steel across various thicknesses.
• Prepare and set up welding equipment and surfaces.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures.
• Weld pipework, plate and critical engine components.
• Work to NDT requirements (UT/RT) and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain welding equipment, consumables and work area.
• Record work in the ERP system and meet production timescales.
• Support continuous improvement and maintain H&S standards.

Salary - £46,000 (including shift allowance)

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons rotating

Week 1: 6am – 2.30pm (finish at 1pm on Fridays)

Week 2: 2pm – 10.30pm (finish at 6pm on Fridays)

Job Role

• Working with carbon and stainless steel across a range of thicknesses
• Preparing and setting up welding equipment and surfaces
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding procedures
• Carrying out welding on pipework, plate and critical engineering components
• Working to high quality standards, with some work subject to NDT inspection such as UT and RT
• Maintaining welding equipment, consumables and work areas
• Recording work using the company's ERP system
• Working to production timescales while maintaining quality standards
• Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining good housekeeping and H&S standards

Ideal Candidate

• Time-served Welding apprenticeship

• Coded welding experience and qualifications

• Confident reading and working from engineering drawings and WPS

• Experience working to recognised welding standards such as ISO, ASME or AWS
• Experience of welding work subject to NDT inspection
• Experience in brazing is essential, with hands-on torch or induction brazing experience desirable
