Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder for a Farnborough-based client to join the Production team. The role focuses on thin-gauge aluminium welding, fabricating and assembling complex components to exacting engineering standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years' fabrication experience, be skilled in reading engineering drawings, and comfortable using high-precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years fabrication experience.
• Experience with thin-gauge aluminium.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding on thin-gauge aluminium (1.5mm–6mm).
• Fabricate, assemble and weld complex components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Set up and safely operate welding equipment, hand tools and fabrication machinery.
• Prepare, clean and finish completed fabrications ready for production processes.
• Inspect finished work using measuring equipment to ensure quality standards.

Our client, based in Farnborough, is seeking an experienced and motivated MIG/TIG Welder to join their growing Production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator with a strong background in thin-gauge aluminium welding who takes pride in producing high-quality work to demanding engineering standards.

Welder Roles and Responsibilities:

• Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding on thin-gauge aluminium (1.5mm–6mm)
• Fabricate, assemble and weld complex components
• Read and interpret from engineering drawings
• Set up and safely operate welding equipment, hand tools and fabrication machinery
• Prepare, clean and finish completed fabrications ready for further production processes
• Inspect finished work using measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers to ensure quality standards are met
• Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality

Welder Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with MIG and TIG welding
• A minimum of 4 year’s fabrication experience
• Experience working with thin-gauge aluminium
• Extensive fabrication experience involving complex builds and assemblies
• Experience working with mild steel and stainless steel
• Ability to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail

Welder Working Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:45pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
