Job summary

As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit. Reporting to the Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 4 at Ashridge Estate welcoming visitors and setting them up for their day.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a great all-round customer service experience and answer visitor queries.
  • Greet visitors on arrival, restock shelves in the shop, and clear tables in the café.
  • Engage with visitors using knowledge of Ashridge Estate and promote fundraising and membership activities.

Job description

As the public face of our properties, you'll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £13.25 per hour

Contract/duration: Permanent

Hours/working pattern: Working every Sunday. 7.5 hour shift

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, you'll be part of a team of 4 working at Ashridge Estate welcoming visitors and setting them up for their day. You’ll use your knowledge of Ashridge to engage with our visitors and look to exceed their expectations ensuring that they enjoy their visit with us. You will be aiding in our growing support effort for the National Trust promoting our fundraising and membership causes. You'll also get involved in other presentation tasks on site, ensuring that Ashridge is clean, tidy and presentable.

No two days will be the same. You can expect to meet many different people and gain a broad experience across all the areas you will be working in. You’ll get involved in all kinds of tasks, including greeting visitors on arrival, restocking the shelves in the shop and clearing tables in the café. Most importantly, you’ll be talking to visitors, answering their questions and making sure they can find everything they need to enjoy their day with us.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
