Job summary

National Trust in Wales is seeking a Welcome Manager (Band 1) to lead our visitor welcome operation across Gower’s iconic sites, including Rhossili and Pennard car parks. The role is permanent, with annualised hours and a salary of £27,612 per year, and you will be the Duty Manager on site.

You’ll lead a dedicated team, ensure high standards of visitor experience, and contribute to safe, welcoming facilities during peak periods. Welsh language engagement is supported as part of our role.

Salary: £27,612 per annum

Contract Duration: Permanent

Working Hours: You will work 1950 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. As our busiest period runs from April to September, flexibility is essential. Regular weekend and Bank Holiday working will be expected to support the visitor demand and ensure the highest standards of welcome and service during peak periods.

What you'll be doing

As Welcome Manager, you will lead and support a team of seasonal staff and volunteers across both Rhossili and Pennard, providing clear direction, coaching and day-to-day leadership to ensure the highest standards of visitor experience. You will also act as Duty Manager for the site, taking responsibility for the safe and effective operation of our visitor facilities and responding to operational issues as they arise.

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring the smooth operation of our visitor welcome facilities and car parks, and creating positive, memorable experiences for all who visit. Working closely with colleagues across visitor operations and countryside teams, you will coordinate seasonal staffing, support volunteer involvement, manage day-to-day operational challenges, and maintain high standards of health, safety and risk management.
