Job summary

18 Week Support is seeking a Theatre HCA to join an NHS Trust’s busy Urology theatre on a weekend, ad-hoc basis. The role focuses on preparing theatre and clinical areas, equipment, instruments and consumables, and supporting the team during Urology procedures.

You should have at least six months' recent surgical theatre HCA experience and NHS experience; weekend shifts are Saturdays and Sundays 08:00–18:00, with flexible or consistent sessions available.

Qualifications

• Theatre HCA experience in a surgical setting, at least 6 months within the last 12 months.
• Proven NHS experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary theatre team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare theatre and clinical areas for the smooth running of procedures.
• Support the theatre team during Urology procedures, keeping patient care and safety high
• Prepare equipment, instruments and consumables for procedures.
• Take and record patient observations where required.
