Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for a six-month temporary assignment with 18 Week Support in an outpatient gynaecology hysteroscopy service across the South West. You will assist clinicians, take vital signs, and support patient care alongside consultants and specialist teams.

Qualifications

• Surgical setting experience of at least 6 months within the last 12 months.
• Proven NHS experience.

Responsibilities

• Taking vital signs observations.
• Urine analysis, pregnancy testing and blood glucose monitoring.
• Keeping records in line with confidentiality requirements.
• Managing clinical specimens.
• Following aseptic technique.
• Hand washing and infection control.
• Disposing of clinical waste.
• Setting up and using a LLETZ machine.
• Setting up and using Novosure or Myosure machines.
• Assisting with endometrial ablation and biopsy.
• Assisting with hysteroscopic fibroid resection.
• Setting up the hysteroscopy trolley and stack system.
