Job summary

18 Week Support Limited is seeking a Gynaecology Outpatient HCA to support an NHS Trust in the Midlands. You will record observations, assist during procedures, and help keep clinics running smoothly.

This role offers weekend sessions with flexible hours, competitive rates, and opportunities to work across outpatient clinics while maintaining patient safety and care standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum experience within Outpatient setting.
• Currently practicing or has practised within Gynaecology outpatients, for a minimum of 6 months, over the last 12-month period.

Responsibilities

• Record and monitor patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturations, height and weight).
• Assist clinicians during outpatient procedures such as colposcopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, cervical procedures.
• Prepare clinical areas and equipment before clinics.
• Clean and restock treatment rooms and clinical areas.
• Assist with specimen collection, labelling and transportation in line with policy.
• Report changes in patient condition to a registered nurse immediately.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Duties

• Record and monitor patient observations, including:
  • Blood pressure
  • Pulse
  • Temperature
  • Respiratory rate
  • Oxygen saturations
  • Height and weight
• Assist clinicians during outpatient procedures such as:
  • Colposcopy
  • Hysteroscopy
  • Endometrial biopsy
  • Cervical procedures
  • Coil (IUD/IUS) insertion and removal
• Prepare clinical areas and equipment before clinics.
• Clean and restock treatment rooms and clinical areas.
• Assist with specimen collection, labelling and transportation in line with policy.
• Report changes in patient condition to a registered nurse immediately.
