South Coast Nursing Homes is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for Eastridge Manor in Bolney, Nr Haywards Heath. You will join a team delivering meals and catering services for residents, working Saturdays and Sundays 7am–3pm.

The role reports to the Head Chef and involves food preparation support, dishwashing, and maintaining hygienic kitchens. Benefits include hourly pay, staff meals, paid breaks, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Willingness to follow food safety procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wash and dry all meal-time crockery and cutlery.
• Clean food trays after use and return to the kitchen.
• Wash and dry bowls, pots, and utensils promptly.
• Keep food preparation areas clean and hygienic.
• Wash, peel, chop and assist with porridge, salads, and desserts.
• Prepare breakfast for residents.

We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex and have 414 beds Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.

We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at our specialist dementia and nursing home Eastridge Manor in Bolney, Nr Haywards Heath.

Hours - 16 hours per week - Saturday and Sunday 7am - 3pm

Reporting into the Head Chef/Chef, the purpose of this role is to assist in maintaining a quality Kitchen and catering service for our residents

Job responsibilities

• To wash and dry all meal time crockery and cutlery using equipment and facilities provided.

• Cleaning of all food trays following use on their return to the kitchen.

• To wash and dry all bowls, trays, saucepans etc as used by the Head Chef/Chef promptly and efficiently.

• Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.

• Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.

• Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking porridge and helping to prepare salads and desserts.

• Preparing breakfast
